Description
Plants Vs Zombies GOTY is an entry-friendly Tower Defence game that blends Strategy and Puzzle elements in a fun and engaging package using some of the most iconic artworks/sprites ever put to screen. The simple truth is, PVZ GOTY is a must-play for any PC gamer and should be viewed as one of the greats of PC gaming as a whole.
The skill level required to play PVZ GOTY ranges from a game your grandmother could figure out (Mine has) to complicated loading tech. Some of the 100% achievements list can be quite RNG-dependent. Thankfully, the community has found some ways to improve the experience using native glitches. The game was originally released in 2009, so the code, while functional, was built before the modern era of constant patches and bug fixes. The current Steam version runs just fine out of the box, thankfully.
Things to Know
Plants vs. Zombies has many versions, from Mobile to PC, and the achievement requirements can vary widely between versions, even if the achievement name is the same. So this guide will focus only on the GOTY (Steam) Version of the game, as it is considered the "Definitive" version at this point; however, I may create a Replanted guide if it appears the community is moving towards playing that version.
You may find some things in this guide transfer between the two; just know I haven't vetted for that personally.

Install Steam + Counter-Strike 2 Download and install Steam, create an account if needed, then install Counter-Strike 2 from your library. |

Run Counter-Strike 2 This may take a minute since it's a fresh install/account. |

Open the Steam Overlay using Shift+Tab. If the option is greyed out, just try relaunching the game. |

Launch the in-game tutorial. Currently, that loads you into a round on the T Side of Dust 2. |

Complete the round. If it doesn't pop, check that the Steam overlay shows Achievements are active, then restart your game and try again. |
